Theron-A317 and Vanuux 'Zolurai's Piety Blades

Since I've seen a few others do this (namely ), I decided to do one, or two, of my own.

The Energy Swords wielded by Spartan Theron A-317 and Sangheili Vanuux 'Zolurai are no ordinary tools. They are referred to as the Piety Blades, seven of the original concepts for the Energy Sword. Created long ago during the war between the Sangheili and the San Shyuum, Vanuux's ancestor Bo'to 'Zolur was trapped on the tallest mountain within the region that would eventually become the new State of Zolur, along with six of his men after their transport was shot down by the Reformists' Dreadnought. Within the mountain, Bo'to discovered an ancient pavillion of Forerunner origin, with a tall, crimson obelisk dwelling at its centre. Bo'to and his men used their traditional curveblades to insert into the seven keyhole-like symbols, and were immediately surged with a stream of energy and visions, eventually knocking them out from the experience as the energy releasing from the top of the obelisk into a beam that shot out the mountain. When they came to, they found their blades shattered, only leaving the hilts but now featuring new designs and colors to them. Bo'to gripped his twin hilts, and blades of pure energy emitted from them: his men followed, and were amazed at the transformation. Upon being rescued after reinforcements witnessed the beam, Bo'to returned to his people and began convincing them to use the relics of their gods to fight off the invaders and save their civilization: this would ultimately lead to the Sangheili's mastery of Forerunner technology, the development of the Energy Sword, and the very formation of the Covenant Empire.

Each Piety Blade is no different from any other Energy Sword hilt. When activated, though, each hilt produces blades of a Purgatory-white glow over the common blue. As their energy sources are unknown even to the Sangheili, no one understands where they possess enough power to never be deprived like other blades. Along with a different look, each blade gives their wielder a unique power or ability of unknown, if not extraordinary and unnatural, whether that be enhanced strength, speed, intelligence, or any other sense: Vanuux, now wielding the two original from his ancestors, has a more unique talent, being able to both translocate between specific distances and even able to traverse between times for a short period of time (tops: one day). But the Piety Blades aren't meant for just any warrior to wield: the blade chooses who can control the power it possesses and is capable of denying it to anyone who shows little honor. And even if one is chosen, the blades have two faults to them: eac blade possesses a sort of "Composer Effect", meaning that each opponent that falls to the blade has a fragment of their mind absorbed into the blade. Along with that, the composed minds, as well as the memories of a wielder's past and even visions from a time long before the Piety Blades' forging, flood into the minds of the wielders, giving them mild to sever forms of hallucinations and even cases of dimentia: the only known form of cure for this condition is a great feat that each wielder must accomplish, so that the visions and memories may cease. Such cases include Theron and the memories of his fallen team of ODST's during the Battle of Draco III and Vanuux with his father's death at the hand of his brother, forcing him to kill his own kin for redemption.
